By registering on the portal www.professorjacino.com and using the materials and available services, the user agrees to these Terms. In case the user does not agree with the terms of the Portal www.professorjacino.com, please do not visit and use the website www.professorjacino.com, as well as do not use the materials and services offered on it.
Terms of Use for the https://professorjacino.com website
The https://professorjacino.com website (hereinafter also – the PROFESSORJACINO platform) is a modern digital learning platform about how food products are produced and packaged. Digital learning materials are available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform. These materials will help children of any age, as well as adults, acquire knowledge of food production and packaging processes in an easy, engaging way – by watching educational videos. Users can also confirm their knowledge by taking the quizzes available on the platform, thereby furthering their comprehension of the processes involved in the food production and food processing industries. A blog and a set of video training modules are also available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, along with the opportunity to take part in various themed webinars (hereinafter also – the Services). This platform’s social goal is to determine and to test optimal solutions for creating and developing social enterprises, including employee integration in support of social enterprises. The goal of such employee integration would be to increase employment opportunities for unemployed people in adverse situations, for people with disabilities and for people living with mental illnesses. The social goals of the social enterprise and limited liability company “Engineering for children” are to improve quality of life for society as a whole and especially to encourage children’s desire to acquire and strengthen STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) knowledge and skills. If citizens acquire knowledge in an easy, engaging form as children, then in future, they will have the courage and the desire to investigate processes of any level of complexity in an in-depth way. These traits have a positive impact on personality development and on joining the job market.
The PROFESSORJACINO platform can be accessed on different types of electronic devices. It has a responsive design and can be used on computers, tablets and cellphones.
Before using the PROFESSORJACINO platform, it is in the User’s interests to inform themself of and to follow the Terms described below. The Terms of Use determine how users of the PROFESSORJACINO platform (hereinafter – the Users) may use the information and Services available on the platform.
Terminology appearing in the Terms of Use
1.1. The User connects to the PROFESSORJACINO platform on the https://professorjacino.com website, which is available on computers, tablets and cellphones. Additional authentification is not required.
1.2. The User agrees to these Terms on behalf of people known to them who wish to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform, and who wish to use the materials and services available on the platform.
1.3. If the User does not agree to the Terms of Use required by the PROFESSORJACINO platform, we request that the User neither visit nor use the platform, and that they not use the materials available or the Services offered there.
1.4. No additional authentification is required in order to start working with the PROFESSORJACINO platform and to become a User of the platform.
1.5. The User has the option of subscribing to receive the PROFESSORJACINO platform’s news. The User may subscribe to receive news in the website section “Sign up for our news”, by entering their Name and e-mail address in the appropriate fields. After the fields have been filled in, a pop-up notification appears, informing the User of a successful subscription. The User then receives an e-mail about recent and upcoming news.
2.1. By using the Services available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, to which “Engineering for children”, the platform’s Owner, ensures access, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions (hereinafter – the Terms):
2.2. These Terms, along with appendices (if applicable), are intended to supply information about the limited liability company “Engineering for children” and to explain the terms of use for the PROFESSORJACINO platform. They are also intended to explain the Terms regarding Services available on the platform to any people specified herein, who use the Services available on the platform.
2.3. Before you use any of the Services available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, we ask you to read these Terms carefully, and to make sure that you have understood the Terms accurately. We ask you to pay attention to the fact that before using the PROFESSORJACINO platform’s Services, the User must familiarize themself wih these Terms, as well as with the Privacy Policy and with the Cookie Policy.
2.4. When the User subscribes to receive the PROFESSORJACINO platform’s news, or to receive Quiz result certificates, they must familiarize themself with the cookie consent notice and must choose either to consent to cookie use or not to do so. If the User does not consent to cookie use, they will not be able to subscribe to receive news or to subscribe to receive Quiz result certificates.
2.5. The User is invited to print out these Terms for future reference.
2.6. We also wish to inform you that these Terms can be changed according to the procedure set out in part 6 of the Terms. We advise the User to review the Terms each time they use the Services on the PROFESSORJACINO platform. This action will ensure that the User fully understands the conditions under which they are using the Services on each specific occasion. These Terms were last updated on March 4, 2022.
2.7. If you violate any of the terms mentioned below, your access to the PROFESSORJACINO platform will be terminated:
2.7.1. The User is not permitted to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform for illegal purposes.
2.7.2. The User is not permitted to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform as a storage server or as a file hosting service.
2.7.3. The User is not permitted to use the platform to publish or to advertise content that is illegal in the Republic of Latvia and in the European Union.
2.7.4. The User is not permitted to use the platform to publish or to advertise content that encourages illegal activities.
2.7.5. The User is not permitted to use, publish or advertise content of a pornographic nature.
2.7.6. The User is not permitted to use the platform to publish or to advertise content whose only goal is to cause harm or to raise money, or content that can be regarded as slanderous.
2.7.7. The User is not permitted to use any content of a racist nature, or any other content whose goal is to encourage the intimidation or humiliation of other people.
2.7.8. The User is not permitted to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform for fraud such as “get rich quick” schemes, or for other questionable schemes.
2.7.9. The User is not permitted to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform and its content on websites that collect donations, except in cases when “Engineering for children” has granted explicit permission to do so.
2.7.10. The User is not permitted to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform and its content on websites whose only goal is to improve search engine ranking or to gain followers on social networks.
2.7.11. The User is not permitted to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform and its content on websites whose content primarily consists of third-party advertising or of copied content.
2.7.12. The User is not permitted to publish content on the PROFESSORJACINO platform that violates Google’s quality rater guidelines.
2.7.13. The User is not permitted to publish content on the PROFESSORJACINO platform that violates Google’s unwanted software policy.
2.8. You agree that on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, you are not permitted to:
2.8.1. interfere with the operation of the PROFESSORJACINO platform: https://professorjacino.com, or to misuse the platform;
2.8.2. upload or publish content that is published on the PROFESSORJACINO platform https://professorjacino.com and is protected by copyright or is otherwise subject to ownership by “Engineering for children” or by third parties, unless you own the content or unless you have written permission from the lawful owner;
2.8.3. upload, publish or advertise any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, malicious, intrusive, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, invasive of other people’s privacy, hostile, racist, or ethnically or otherwise derogatory;
2.8.4. upload or publish any adult content;
2.8.5. send unwanted commercial e-mails (spam);
2.8.6. sell any of your own Services on the PROFESSORJACINO platform. Such an action breaks all the applicable laws or terms of the European Union or of the Republic of Latvia;
2.8.7. upload or publish content that you don’t have the right to disseminate, in accordance with statutes or with a contractual relationship or with a trust;
2.8.8. upload files only in order to host them on the https://professorjacino.com platform and in order to use them outside the platform;
2.8.9. upload or publish any content that encourages or gives instruction regarding illegal activities;
2.8.10. impersonate any person or organization;
2.8.11. exceed the extent of the Services to which you have subscribed;
2.8.12. use the Services as a transfer service connected to a different website;
2.8.13. include any advertisement that significantly reduces the website’s usability;
2.8.14. conceal the https://professorjacino.com domain name on free websites by using HTML frames or in any other way.
3.1. These Terms are applied while using the PROFESSORJACINO platform’s Services on https://professorjacino.com.
3.2. All types of copyright to the PROFESSORJACINO platform and to the information and materials contained therein are the property of the limited liability company “Engineering for children ”– registered address – Tērbatas iela 33-3, Rīga, LV-1011, registration nr. 40203351860, e-mail address: info@professorjacino.com (hereinafter also – the Owner). Copyright to the visual materials present on the PROFESSORJACINO platform is registered in the Patent Register of the Republic of Latvia. Data related to the Owner is stored in the Registry of Legal Persons. This registry is maintained by SIA “LURSOFT IT”, the reuser of the information in the Business Registry of the Republic of Latvia.
3.3. More information about the Owner is available in the section “About us”.
3.4. The Owner’s contact information is available in the Footer of the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
3.5. When republishing information from the PROFESSORJACINO platform, the User must cite the platform.
4.1. The PROFESSORJACINO platform offers the Services available on this platform. “Engineering for children” is the Developer and Owner of those Services. The User is responsible for following the Terms, as well as the Privacy Policy and the cookie policy.
4.2. The Services available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform are modern digital learning materials in video and quiz form, created by “Engineering for children”. The User can also sign up for training modules either in person or remotely, participate in themed webinars organized by “Engineering for children” and read articles available on the Blog.
4.3. The PROFESSORJACINO platform was created with support from both the European Social Fund of the European Union (project nr. 9.1.1.3/15/I/001) and from supporters whose names appear in the “About Us” section of the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
4.4. The materials available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform were created based on the desire to educate members of the public about STEM, in order to improve both quality of life for society as a whole and general comprehension of the food industry. The platform achieves this goal by explaining the food industry’s complex processes in a way that is engaging and easy to understand. Additional information about use of the PROFESSORJACINO platform is available in the section “Training Modules”, where the User will find a “Video Training Module” – “Methodical Instructions for Work with Digital Learning Materials about Food Production”.
4.5. The images available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, of Services provided by the platform, are of an illustrative nature. Despite the fact that the Owner does everything possible in order to make sure that the colours of the Services appear as accurately as possible, the Owner cannot guarantee that the screen of the User’s device will display the colours of the Services accurately. The User understands that the Services may differ slightly from their images.
4.6. Unless indicated otherwise, all the Services offered by the PROFESSORJACINO platform are available.
4.7. On the PROFESSORJACINO platform, the User can subscribe to receive news in the section “Sign up for our news”, where the User must enter their User Name and E-mail Address in the appropriate text boxes. After filling in the appropriate text boxes and sending the information contained therein by clicking on the “Submit” button, and after either agreeing to or not agreeing to the cookie policy, the User will receive an e-mail, sent to the e-mail address they have indicated. In this e-mail, the User will once more have to accept their subscription to receive news, by activating the reCAPTCHA widget.
4.8. On the PROFESSORJACINO platform, the User can indicate which product they would like to find out about by filling in the text box “Which product would you like to find out about?”, by clicking on the reCAPTCHA widget “I’m not a robot” and by clicking on the “Send” button.
4.9. In the “QUIZZES” section of the PROFESSORJACINO platform, the User can check their comprehension by taking the quiz they choose from the quizzes available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform. In order to begin the selected quiz, you must click on the “Start” button. Next, mark the answer you believe is correct and click on the “Next” button. Continue sequentially filling out the quiz until you have marked answers to all the questions. In order to return to the previous question, you can click on the “Back” button. After finishing a quiz, the User can simply view their result by clicking on the “Result” button; they can also sign up to receive a certificate. In the latter case, the User must fill in the “Your name” and “Your e-mail address” text boxes, must either agree to or not agree to the cookie policy, and must click on the “Result” button. After filling in the appropriate text boxes, the User will receive all the quiz questions, all the answers and their own quiz result, sent to the e-mail address they have indicated.
4.10. If the User has performed the actions mentioned in points 4.7., 4.8. and 4.9. of these terms, after which they should receive an e-mail, “Engineering for children” asks the User to check if the e-mail from the PROFESSORJACINO platform has ended up in their “Spam” folder. If the User has entered incorrect information in any of the text boxes and, as a result, has not received the appropriate e-mail, “Engineering for children” is not responsible for the error. If the User has entered the contact information of a third party, the User is fully responsible for any losses which may therefore result from any action or inaction on the part of the User.
4.11. “Engineering for children” retains the right to change or terminate the Services (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without warning.
5.1. “Engineering for children” processes the User’s personal data in accordance with the PROFESSORJACINO platform’s Privacy Policy. Taking into account the fact that the Privacy Policy specifies certain terms and conditions, we advise the User to read those terms carefully and to make sure that they understand and accept all the terms of the Privacy Policy.
5.2. By using the PROFESSORJACINO platform and its available Services, you agree that “Engineering for children” is permitted to use such data, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6.1. “Engineering for children” retains the right to change these terms, including, but not limited to, in relation to:
6.1.1. changes to the terms of use of the PROFESSORJACINO platform;
6.1.2. changes to applicable statutes.
6.2. Each time the User uses the Services, the same version of the Terms will be in effect that is in effect on the day they use the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
6.3. “Engineering for children” retains the right to unilaterally change these Terms at any time, without prior warning. Such changes will not be backdated. Changes that are made for legal reasons will take effect immediately.
6.4. You acknowledge and agree that you are responsible for periodically reviewing these Terms and for becoming aware of all changes. Use of the PROFESSORJACINO platform and continued use of the platform’s Services after any changes mean that you agree to such changes.
7.1. The User has the right, without need to give a reason, to decline the Services they have received and to decline a subscription to news about the PROFESSORJACINO platform. The User can take this action by sending in an appropriate announcement in writing, by means of the form indicated in point 7.2. of these Terms. The form would contain the User’s declaration of their wish to decline the Services. In such a case, the User must send in their declaration of declination of the Services to “Engineering for children” electronically, by writing to the e-mail address: info@professorjacino.com. When “Engineering for children” receives the User’s electronic declaration, it will immediately send a confirmation of receipt to the User’s e-mail address.
7.2. Declination form (example)

7.3. As soon as the User has sent their Declaration of use of the right to decline Services to “Engineering for children”, they will immediately stop using the applicable Services.
7.4. In certain circumstances, the User cannot use the right to decline services and cannot stop using the Services. Such circumstances are set out in point 22 of Cabinet Rule Nr. 255 (dated 20.05.2014) from the Cabinet of Ministers: “Cabinet Rules regarding distance contracts”.
7.5. “Engineering for children” has the right to, at its own discretion, suspend use of the Services and to cut off access to the Services, or to stop operating the Services, at any time without giving a reason. Such discontinuation of the Services will delete the information that the User has entered into the PROFESSORJACINO platform, and will limit or prevent access to the data you have entered while using the Services.
7.6. “Engineering for children” has no obligation to store, to maintain or to secure for the User a copy of any content that the User or their authorized representatives provide while using the Services.
7.7. In all cases, the User has rights related to inadequately supplied Services, which are set out in the statutes of the Republic of Latvia. The terms of cessation indicated in this 7. point or in other points of the Terms do not affect the existence of such rights.
7.8. If, after the termination of access to Services that has been described in these Terms, the User wishes to restore access to the Services, then the User must once again request Services or request a subscription to news on the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
8.1. After receiving a request to subscribe to news in the section “Sign up for our news”, “Engineering for children” sends the User a confirmation e-mail with a request to confirm the subscription. After this confirmation, the User will receive news about the information available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
8.2. There is no separate delivery fee for delivery of the Services. The Services are only delivered electronically (to the User’s e-mail address), if applicable.
8.3. “Engineering for children” always retains ownership of the Services. The User only receives the right to use the Services, until the User invokes their right to decline such Services, or until another point of these Terms is applied.
9.1. No price is applied to the use of Services on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, and no preparation and/ or delivery fees are applied, unless otherwise indicated on the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
9.2. Prices can be applied to the Services on the PROFESSORJACINO platform without prior warning. Such changes take effect after they are made public on the platform. If the User chooses to acquire a paid service available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, then access to the appropriate Service is ensured after the User pays the price of the Service, in accordance with these terms.
9.3. “Engineering for children” does not assume any responsibility toward the User or toward third parties regarding changes to the Services, changes to prices of the Services, or suspension or discontinuation of the Services.
9.4. If “Engineering for children” discontinues the Services, it will inform the User of such a discontinuation beforehand, if reasonably possible. “Engineering for children” will also give the User the opportunity to acquire any information entered into Services purchased by the User (if applicable).
10.1. If a price is applied to any of the Services on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, then depending on the Service selected by the User, and in accordance with the pricing for Services offered by “Engineering for children” (if applicable), when the User orders the appropriate Service on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, they will make a payment for the selected Service in accordance with an invoice issued by “Engineering for children”. This document will be issued at a time indicated on the invoice itself. The invoice will be sent to the appropriate User’s e-mail address.
10.2. By agreeing to these Terms of Use for the PROFESSORJACINO platform, the User agrees that “Engineering for children” will issue electronic invoices for paid Services, if such Services are available on and were purchased from the PROFESSORJACINO platform. Such issued electronic invoices are valid without a signature. The User accepts them, and agrees to receive such invoices to the e-mail address indicated when they ordered the Services.
10.3. The PROFESSORJACINO platform does not ensure tax free services.
10.4. The amount of payment (if such has been set) for the Services is applied depending on the Service selected by the User, in accordance with the pricing for Services offered by “Engineering for children” on the PROFESSORJACINO platform at the moment when the User ordered the applicable Service.
10.5. If any of the User’s information that could affect payment of the price for use of the Service has changed since the User’s initial order of the Service, the User must inform “Engineering for children” of the change either beforehand or immediately after the information changes. The User can give this notice by writing to the e-mail address: info@professorjacino.com. They must indicate the applicable changes to their information in the e-mail.
11.1. The User only has the right to use the Services in accordance with these Terms. The User has the right to decline to receive the Services at any time.
11.2. The User undertakes to provide only correct and complete information to the PROFESSORJACINO platform, where such a possibility exists. If the information supplied by the User changes, the User must immediately update it and must inform “Engineering for children” of the change.
11.3. The User undertakes to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform fairly and correctly, and not to harm its work or its ability to function in a stable way. If the User does not abide by this commitment, “Engineering for children” has the right to restrict or terminate the User’s ability to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform without prior warning. “Engineering for children” is not responsible for any losses the User may experience as a result of such termination.
11.4. The User must pay for paid Services (if applicable) that have prices indicated on the PROFESSORJACINO platform. They must accept those Services according to the procedure set out in these Terms.
11.5. In spite of the obligations set out in other points of these Terms, the User undertakes to examine the Services before they begin using the Services, and to make sure that the services received are the ones the User ordered.
11.6. The User must fulfill other requirements present in these Terms and in the Statutes of the Republic of Latvia.
11.7. The User takes responsibility for using the Services in a manner corresponding to the goals of the appropriate Services, to these Terms, to copyright law, and to requirements set out in other international statutes and in statutes of the Republic of Latvia. Any use of the Services that does not comply with these Terms will be regarded as an infringement of the rights of “Engineering for children”.
11.8. The User undertakes not to transfer the right to use the Services, as well as all the rights, interests or obligations mentioned herein (either in accordance with law, or otherwise), to third parties without prior written consent from “Engineering for children”. Taking the point mentioned above into account, the terms of using the Services are binding for the User and for their relevant guardians, descendants and authorized assignees. These terms are beneficial and enforceable.
12.1. “Engineering for children” offers Services in accordance with these Terms.
12.2. “Engineering for children” must:
12.2.1. make every effort to ensure circumstances that allow the User to use the Services available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform properly;
12.2.2. respect the User’s privacy, by only processing the User’s personal data according to the procedure set out in these Terms, in the Privacy Policy, and in the statutes of the Republic of Latvia;
12.3. “Engineering for children” undertakes to follow all the requirements set out in these Terms.
12.4. “Engineering for children” can change the terms under which the Services are offered without the User’s consent.
13.1. “Engineering for children” ensures the quality of the Services, in a manner corresponding to the descriptions of the same provided on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, and corresponding to these Terms, as well as to the requirements of the statutes in effect in the Republic of Latvia.
13.2. While the Services are in use, “Engineering for children” provides the following guarantees:
13.2.1. error troubleshooting, in the event that the error has arisen as a result of direct action by “Engineering for children”, or as a result of the Services not working according to the description of the same and/or according to the terms of use of the PROFESSORJACINO platform. In such a case, the User must notify “Engineering for children” of the Service error by writing to the following e-mail address: info@professorjacino.com.
13.2.2. The User can inquire about questions regarding maintenance of the guarantee by sending written questions to the e-mail address: info@professorjacino.com.
13.3. “Engineering for children” does not offer direct or indirect guarantees regarding the suitability of the Services for the User’s specific goals or specific business processes.
13.4. The User assumes the risk of using the Services, and agrees that the Services are available in the amount and in the quality decided upon between “Engineering for children” and the User when use of the Services begins. The Services are supplied based on the technical and functional possibilities of existing Services, and on the current availability of the same.
13.5. “Engineering for children” does not guarantee that the Services will correspond to the User’s specific requirements, that they will be uninterrupted, timely, safe or without errors.
13.6. “Engineering for children” does not guarantee that the results that the User might obtain when using the Services will be precise or reliable. It does not guarantee that the quality of the information or other materials that the User has acquired by using the PROFESSORJACINO platform will correspond to the User’s hopes. Nor does it guarantee that all the errors existing in the Services will be fixed.
14.1. Any User who wishes to submit a complaint about poor-quality Services can do so electronically, by sending their claim to the “Engineering for children” e-mail address: info@professorjacino.com, with no need to fill out a form. In this message, the User must indicate the Service in question.
14.2. When submitting a complaint, the User must provide the following information:
14.2.1. the names of the Services in question, the invoice number and the Order number, if one was assigned. If possible, the User must attach the invoice, so that “Engineering for children” can review the User’s complaint as quickly as possible;
14.2.2. the User must indicate the Service’s defect, its signs of damage or its missing part and the time at which the defect was detected, if possible;
14.2.3. the User must provide other evidence, for example, a photograph of the Service, or a photograph of the defective spot (if the damage is mechanical and can be photographed or be captured with a Print Screen command), etc.
14.3. When submitting a complaint, the User must indicate one of the ways in which they wish the claim to be resolved:
14.3.1. by “Engineering for children” fixing the Service’s defects without compensation within a reasonable length of time, if the defects can be fixed in compliance with the terms of the guarantee;
14.3.2. by decreasing the purchase price of the Service appropriately (if one has been applied). “Engineering for children” and the User will agree on this option electronically, by e-mail;
14.3.3. by repaying the amount of money paid for use of the Service to the User (if that amount was paid in a manner corresponding to these Terms), unless the Service’s defect is minor and cannot significantly affect the User’s ability to use the Services. The Service’s defect shall be considered minor if it does not significantly decrease the performance quality of the Service’s basic functions or operational characteristics, and if it can be fixed without making functional or visually detectable changes to the Services.
14.4. When a complaint or a request for processing/ deletion of personal data is reviewed, the User receives a reply within 30 (thirty) business days from the day the complaint/request was received. If, for objective reasons, it is impossible to give a reply to the User’s complaint within the stated timeframe, “Engineering for children” will immediately inform the User of this fact in writing, and will indicate a reasonable timeframe within which the User will receive a reply. “Engineering for children” will also explain the need for such an extension.
14.5. If the User finds that the Services are of inadequate quality and wishes to stop receiving/using them, “Engineering for children” undertakes to ensure termination of the Services for the User, in accordance with these Terms.
14.6. The User is hereby warned that unlawful access to the PROFESSORJACINO automated data processing platform, disruption of the functioning of the PROFESSORJACINO automated data processing platform, illegal use of the information available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, illegal use of the resource control features of the PROFESSORJACINO automated data processing platform, and the acquisition, production, alteration, storage and dissemination of data, software and equipment for illegal activities carried out with terminals belonging to the platform’s electronic communications network are criminal offenses. Responsibility for these activities applies in accordance with the criminal laws of the Republic of Latvia.
14.7. The User is hereby warned that illegal actions taken with any individual’s personal data are administrative or criminal offenses.
14.8. Accessing the PROFESSORJACINO platform with another person’s username and password, as well as the attempt to acquire this information, is a criminal act.
14.9. “Engineering for children” does not take responsibility for the normal functioning of the PROFESSORJACINO platform if the User uses software or Internet browser extensions that modify the original content of the PROFESSORJACINO platform in any way, or that make the same content inaccessible in any way.
14.10. The User is responsible for the actions they take while using the PROFESSORJACINO platform, including, but not limited to, for the accuracy of the data supplied to the Services on the PROFESSORJACINO platform. The User takes responsibility for any consequences that may result from errors or inaccuracies in the data supplied to the PROFESSORJACINO platform or in use of the Services.
14.11. The User is responsible for the storage of their data, and/or for the transfer thereof to third parties. If third parties use the Services available on the PROFESSORJACINO platform after connecting to the platform with the User’s login information, “Engineering for children” will regard such parties as Users. The original User will be responsible for all actions taken by such third parties on the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
14.12. To the extent that such action does not contradict the applicable statutes,
“Engineering for children” is released from any liability in cases when losses occur because the User, failing to take the company’s recommendations and their own commitments into account, did not become familiar with these Terms, with this Privacy Policy and with other documents indicated in these Terms, even though such an opportunity was provided to them.
14.13. The User must ensure the safe storage of the data they enter into the PROFESSORJACINO platform, and must not reveal it. The User must also ensure that they are the only person who knows and uses this data, and that they neither transfer this data to other people nor create an opportunity for other people to become familiar with this data or to use it in any other way. If the User suspects that another person may have found out their login information, they must immediately inform “Engineering for children” of this fact. They must also immediately inform “Engineering for children” of a data breach or data disclosure regarding their PROFESSORJACINO platform login information. All actions that are taken through use of the User’s identifying data are regarded as taken by the User. The User takes full responsibility for the consequences of such actions.
14.14. If these Terms are violated during use of the PROFESSORJACINO platform, the violating party will answer for such action according to procedures set out in statutes in effect in the Republic of Latvia and in the European Union.
14.15. If “Engineering for children” violates these Terms and Conditions, it is responsible for direct harms or direct losses to the User that took place as foreseeable results of the violation of these Terms. Harms or losses are regarded as foreseeable if they are obvious results of the company’s violation, or if “Engineering for children” and the User were aware of such harms or losses when the User began to use the PROFESSORJACINO platform and its Services.
14.16. “Engineering for children” provides the Services only for the User’s personal use. The User undertakes not to use the acquired Services for commercial, entrepreneurial or resale purposes. “Engineering for children” will not be responsible for any lost profits, business losses, interference with activities or losses related to lost business opportunities on the part of the User.
14.17. “Engineering for children” is not responsible for information supplied on the websites of other businesses, even if the User ends up on these websites after using a reference present on the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
14.18. The User agrees and clearly understands that “Engineering for children” is not responsible for any direct, indirect, accidental, specific, resultant or exemplary losses (including, but not limited to, losses of profit, of value of intangible assets, of utilization, data or other intangible losses (even if “Engineering for children” is informed of the possibility of such damages)), that result from:
14.18.1. use of the Services, or from the inability to use them;
14.18.2. costs of substitutes for the Services and for purchase of the Services, that are incurred when purchasing the Services, data or information, or when receiving messages or transactions that were carried out by means of the Services;
14.18.3. unauthorized access to the User’s information or data, or from modification of the same;
14.18.4. notifications or actions by any third party on the Services;
14.18.5. or any other question related to the Services.
14.19. As far as permitted by law, the joint responsibility of “Engineering for children” for any requirements in accordance with these Terms, including for any indirect guarantees, is limited to the sum that the User paid for use of the Services.
14.20. “Engineering for children” is aware that in some countries, as a consumer, the User might have lawful rights that are different from the consumer rights in effect in the Republic of Latvia. If the User uses the Services for personal purposes, nothing in these Terms limits such of the consumer’s lawful rights as cannot be declined in accordance with these Terms.
14.21. The User understands and agrees that “Engineering for children” is not responsible for and does not cover any losses resulting from actions taken by the User and/or by third parties on the PROFESSORJACINO platform and/or with the PROFESSORJACINO platform’s Services (or outside the same) of which “Engineering for children” could not previously be aware or could not prevent, and which contradict both these Terms and any statutes related to rights.
15.1. “Engineering for children” will not be responsible for any obligation related to non-compliance with or delay of compliance with these Terms, if such non-compliance or delay arises from events outside the control of “Engineering for children”, as is defined in point 16.2. of these Terms.
15.2. An event outside the control of “Engineering for children” means any action or event that “Engineering for children” justifiably cannot control, including decrees made by the government of the Republic of Latvia, the declaration of a state of emergency, war, political situations, the threat of terrorist acts, pandemic conditions or natural catastrophes.
15.3. If an event outside the control of “Engineering for children” takes place and affects the ability of “Engineering for children” to properly carry out its obligations in accordance with these Terms, then:
15.3.1. “Engineering for children” will immediately inform the User;
15.3.2. any obligations for which “Engineering for children” is responsible and which arise from these Terms will stop being carried out. The deadline for performance of these obligations will be extended, to a length that matches the length of the event outside the control of “Engineering for children”. If events outside the control of “Engineering for children” affect delivery of Services to the User, “Engineering for children” will arrange a new delivery date after the end of the events outside its control.
16.1. The concept “in writing” used in these Terms includes e-mails.
16.2. In order to communicate with “Engineering for children” in writing, or if the Terms call for the User to communicate with “Engineering for children” in writing, the User will either send the company an email, to the e-mail address: info@professorjacino.com, or will send a letter, addressed to the limited liability company “Engineering for children”, to the address indicated in these Terms. When “Engineering for children” receives the communication, it will inform the User in writing, usually by e-mail. The procedure for the User turning to “Engineering for children” in the cases of use of the right to decline services and of withdrawal from these Terms is supplied in point 6. of these Terms.
16.3. “Engineering for children” will send all correspondence intended for the User to the e-mail address indicated by the User on the PROFESSORJACINO platform, if the User has used the appropriate data entry forms available on the platform (which call for entry of their e-mail address).
17.1. Any withdrawal from these Terms is only in effect if it is drawn up in a written document.
17.2. Taking into account the statutes in effect in the Republic of Latvia, the User has certain rights related to Services of inadequate quality. No condition of these Terms should be interpreted as one that limits the exercise of such rights.
17.3. “Engineering for children” has the right to transfer its rights and obligations, in accordance with these Terms, to a third party or parties. However, such a transfer of rights and obligations will have no effect on the User’s rights or on the commitments of “Engineering for children” in accordance with these terms. In the case of such a transfer, “Engineering for children” will inform the User by supplying information regarding the transfer on the PROFESSORJACINO platform.
17.4. The User does not have the right to transfer all or part of the rights or commitments they hold thanks to these Terms to a third party or parties without the written consent of “Engineering for children”.
17.5. If a court finds any of these Terms to be illegal, faulty or inapplicable, the remaining conditions of these Terms remain in effect and are fully applicable. Any condition of these Terms that is found to be illegal, faulty or inapplicable (either in part or to a certain extent) will remain in effect to the extent to which it was not found to be illegal, faulty or inapplicable.
17.6. Unless indicated otherwise in these Terms, any delay by “Engineering for children” that is related to the exercise of the company’s rights or to its fulfillment of its obligations in accordance with these Terms does not release the User from fulfillment of their obligations. It does not permit the User’s refusal of these rights either. Separate or partial fulfillment of any obligation or the separate or partial exercise of any right does not mean that these obligations do not have to be fulfilled or that these rights cannot be exercised thereafter.
17.7. The statutes of the Republic of Latvia apply to these Terms, and to any relationship between the parties that is in accordance with these Terms. The Terms are to be explained based on statutes in effect in the Republic of Latvia.
17.8. Disputes between the User and “Engineering for children” shall be resolved by means of mutual conversation. If “Engineering for children” declines to resolve the User’s complaint, or if the User does not agree to the solutions proposed by “Engineering for children” and states that their rights or interests were violated, the User can submit a complaint to the Committee for Out-of-Court Resolution of Consumer Disputes, which is located at Brīvības iela 55, Rīga, Latvija, LV-1010. 17.9. Any dispute, disagreement or requirement that follows from these Terms or is related to these Terms, to their violation, to their termination or to their validity shall be definitively settled according to procedures set out in the statutes of the Republic of Latvia.
17.10. In addition to the above, the User can use the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform to resolve disputes about Services used or bought on the website https://professorjacino.com. For more information, see http://ec.europa.eu/odr.

1.1. The limited liability company “Engineering for children”, registration nr. 40203351860, registered address: Tērbatas iela 33-3, Rīga, LV-1011 (hereinafter – “Engineering for children”), as the data controller on the website https://professorjacino.com (hereinafter also – the PROFESSORJACINO platform) carries out data processing and secures data protection in a manner corresponding to such statutes in effect in the Republic of Latvia and in the European Union as apply to the field of data processing. Applicable statutes include the European Parliament and Council of Europe regulation (ES) 2016/679 about the protection of individuals as regards data processing, and about the free flow of such data. The European Parliament and Council of Europe thereby rescind Directive 95/46/EK (the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter – the GDPR). Every indivudual has the opportunity to choose freely whether or not to give consent for the processing of their personal data to the PROFESSORJACINO platform. At any time, every indivudual can also easily and comfortably withdraw their consent, by communicating with us. Such a withdrawal will not affect any processing that has taken place up to the moment of withdrawal. Similarly, any person can exercise the rights of a data subject, which are set out in statutes. Such rights include the right to receive information about one’s data, the right to object to the processing of one’s data (including for the exercise of legitimate interests), the right to submit a request for the correction, deletion, transfer and limitation of access to one’s data, the right to give an opinion and to request review of a decision made by means of an automated process, and the right to submit a complaint related to data processing to supervisory bodies, in case of need.
1.2. Here you can familiarize yourself with the Privacy Policy implemented by “Engineering for children” (hereinafter – the Privacy Policy).
1.3. “Engineering for children” certifies that it will apply the most stringent security requirements to the personal data that ends up at its disposal. The privacy of data subjects will be protected to the utmost. “Engineering for children” invests resources in protecting personal data, and its day-to-day operation meets the same goal.
1.4. The goal of this Privacy Policy is to supply information about how “Engineering for children” processes the personal data of indentifiable individuals – the data subjects (hereinafter – the Data Subject(s)) – that ends up at the company’s disposal. Such information comes to the company when the Data Subjects communicate with “Engineering for children” by using the available communication channels (text boxes in the “Quizzes” and “Sign up for our news” sections, as well as telephone, e-mail, and post), by visiting the “Engineering for children” website or by visiting the premises of “Engineering for children” as well as attending any public events related to the company’s activities.
1.5. The Privacy Policy supplies information about how “Engineering for children” acquires personal data, about volumes of data, about data processing terminolgy, and about data protection. It also informs the Data Subject of their rights and obligations, as well as of the cookie policy.
1.6. This Privacy Policy applies to any Data Subject whose personal data is processed by “Engineering for children”. It is applicable to data processing regardless of how the data in question came to be at the disposal of “Engineering for children”.
1.7. This Policy has been prepared with every effort to introduce readers to questions related to “Engineering for children”’s personal data processing as simply as possible. However, individual definitions are used just as they appear in the GDPR:
1.8. In the Privacy Policy, “Engineering for children” has described the steps it has taken in order to ensure that the Data Subject’s interests and freedoms are protected. These steps ensure that the data is processed legally, in good faith, and in a way that is transparent for the Data Subject.

3.1. The types of personal data processed by “Engineering for children” depend on the Services used by the Data Subject, or on the activities carried out by the Data Subject.
3.2. The data processed most often is acquired when the Data Subject receives (or expresses a wish to “Engineering for children” to receive) the services offered by “Engineering for children”. This action occurs when the Data Subject fills in their selected quizzes in the “Quizzes” section of the PROFESSORJACINO platform and signs up to receive a certificate, or when they subscribe to receive news in the “Sign up for our news” section or in the “Which product would you like to find out about?” section. In such a case, the following data could be processed:
– The User’s name;
– The User’s contact information: e-mail address;
– Information about the received services (the Data Subject’s opinion);
– Information that the User has provided to “Engineering for children”.
3.3. If the User makes any claims about the quality of the Services, “Engineering for children” has an obligation to review such claims, according to the requirements set out in statutes. Applicable statutes, in turn, define the minimum amount of personal data that the claimant must indicate in their claim (for example, name and contact information). Consequently, “Engineering for children” has a legal right to process such data. The relevant information is recorded in “Engineering for children”’s documents and is stored appropriately.
4.1. The most typical legal bases for data processing used by “Engineering for children” are – data processing carried out in order to allow performance of Services, data processing carried out in order to exercise the data controller’s or a third party’s legitimate interests, and data processing carried out based on consent from the Data Subject.
4.2. Data processing in order to allow performance of Services. When the Data Subject receives Services (participates in training organized by “Engineering for children”), it is accepted that “Engineering for children” and the Data Subject have entered into a contract.
4.2.1. Corresponding to the GDPR, the legal basis of this processing is:
4.2.2. The time limit for data storage applicable to such data processing is determined according to the goal of that processing, and according to the requirements of statutes, taking the following circumstances into acocunt:
4.2.2.3. the protection of the Data Subject’s vitally important interests, or those of another individual, including protection of life and health.
4.2.3. The Services offered by “Engineering for children” have a defined period of use; the information related to these Services will be stored for the entirety of this period.
4.2.4. If there is no legal basis for its processing, personal data will be permanently deleted.
4.2.5. Rights of access to this data are limited. They can be transferred to third parties without the Data Subject’s consent, in accordance with the requirements of statutes, including in a manner corresponding to circumstances provided for by the GDPR:
4.2.6. If the Data Subject objects to data processing necessary for carrying out a contract (if applicable) in cases when such mandatory data processing is required (such as while visiting the premises of “Engineering for children” or while receiving the Services offered by “Engineering for children”), the Data Subject must take into account that “Engineering for children” can deny them access to its premises. In such a case, the company can also decline access to full and high-quality Services. Before signing any contract (if applicable), “Engineering for children” will require information about the Data Subject. If the Data Subject fails to supply this information, or does not supply it in full, they must take into account that “Engineering for children” will not sign a contract with them. Accordingly, the Data Subject wil not have the opportunity to receive the Services offered by “Engineering for children”.
4.3. Processing of data acquired at events organized by “Engineering for children”. In order to present events organized by “Engineering for children” in mass media and on the Internet, the company’s PROFESSORJACINO platform will use personal data (videos and photographs) in which specific people will be visible and identifiable. The goal of putting such videos and photographs on the “Engineering for children” homepage is to popularize the PROFESSORJACINO platform and to increase its visibility among educational professionals, as well as among a wider sector of society. Personal data acquired during events organized by “Engineering for children” and by its partners might be put on the PROFESSORJACINO platform and in informative materials, and might be published in the press.
4.3.1. Corresponding to the GDPR, the legal basis of this processing is:
4.3.2. “Engineering for children” has a legitimate interest in attracting the attention of society to the development of successful business and in being a recognizable brand to educational institutions, as well as to a wider part of society.
4.3.3. When publishing any information that contains personal data, the company follows high ethical standards. In such cases, it strives to ensure that data is used in a way that does not violate the Data Subject’s rights and freedoms.
4.3.4. If the Data Subject objects to the processing of their personal data, based on facts and circumstances of which “Engineering for children” is not informed, they have every opportunity to contact “Engineering for children” and to object to the processing of the applicable data. The Data Subject has the right to object to the processing of their data at events organized by “Engineering for children”; they can do so by asking the photographer or camera operator not to take photos or to record video in which the Data Subject can be undeniably identified. The Data Subject can also move in a way that prevents them from ending up in a photograph or in a video frame. The Data Subject must take into account, however, that in the case of a large event where many people will be present, it might be challenging or completely impossible for the photographer, for the camera operator or for “Engineering for children” to carry out such a request. Data processing will have a legal basis indepedent of such a request, and it has a defined goal.
4.3.5. “Engineering for children” plans to permanently store the data in this category, as part of its archive. That archive serves as a testimony of the applicable time period, and will serve as historical information for future generations, regarding how “Engineering for children” has developed over time and how the assortment of offered Services has grown.
4.3.6. The recipients of published information from “Engineering for children”’s events might be third parties. As a result, such information will thereafter be available to an unlimited pool of interested parties.
4.3.7. The data mentioned in this section can be accessed by any interested party who visits “Engineering for children”’s PROFESSORJACINO platform, or, if such data is published in the press, by any reader.
4.4. Personal data acquired as a result of incoming and outgoing communication. Within the scope of its business activities, “Engineering for children” regularly communicates with various individuals and legal persons. Such communications also contain information about personal data. In cases when the Data Subject has submitted a complaint or a request, “Engineering for children” must reply, according to a procedure set out in statutes. Such a reply means that the Data Subject’s personal data is being processed. Such processing is based on the fulfillment of “Engineering for children”’s legal obligation.
4.4.1. Corresponding to the GDPR, the legal basis of this processing is:
4.4.2. “Engineering for children” will store the relevant information for no longer than two years, unless that information is necessary in order to ensure the protection of the company’s legitimate interests for a longer period of time, for example, in the case of legal proceedings, or in situations when the actions of “Engineering for children” are being assessed by another national supervisory body. In such a case, the Data Subject’s personal data will be stored until the legitimate interests in question have been exercised fully.
4.4.3. The recipients of this personal data will be authorized employees of “Engineering for children”, contracted processors of personal data, law enforcement agencies and supervisory bodies, as well as other right-holders as named in procedures set out in statutes.
4.4.4. The Data Subject might object to the processing of their data. If this is the case, in order for “Engineering for children” to be able to reply to the Data Subject’s request in cases when mandatory processing of personal data is necessary, the Data Subject must take into account that the company will not be able to give such a reply, or will only be able to give it partially and in inferior quality. The quality of the reply will depend on the information about the Data Subject available to “Engineering for children”.
4.5. The Data Subject’s consent. The Data Subject can give consent to “Engineering for children” regarding the processing of their data. Corresponding to the requirements of the GDPR, the legal basis of such processing is the Data Subject’s consent. The consent must be in deliberate, provable, clear and simple language, specific, freely given. Consent can be given in person, at the registered address of “Engineering for children”. In all other cases, when “Engineering for children” exercises its legal rights by ensuring requirements set out in external statutes, the Data Subject is not asked to consent to the processing of personal data.
4.5.1. The Data Subject has the right to revoke the consent given for data processing at any time, in the same way in which it was given, namely, in person at the registered address of “Engineering for children” or by writing to the email address: info@professorjacino.com. In such a case, further data processing, based on consent previously given for a specific purpose, will no longer be carried out.
4.5.2. Wthdrawal of consent does not affect data processing that was carried out during the time when the Data Subject’s consent was in effect. (Withdrawal of consent does not take effect retroactively). When consent is withdrawn, current data processing that is supported by other legal bases cannot be terminated.
4.6. The time limit for data storage, as it applies to personal data, is defined by the following criteria:
4.6.1. while the Data Subject or “Engineering for children” can exercise their legitimate interests (for example, review of requests, protection of rights, resolution of issues, taking action in court, compliance with limitation periods, etc.) through a procedure set out in external statutes.
4.6.2. while the Data Subject or “Engineering for children” has a legal obligation to store the data.
5.1. The Data Subject has the right to receive such information as is related to the processing of their data, or to the limitation of processing as regards the Data Subject themself. Statutes define the data the Data Subject has the right to receive in such a case. The Data Subject also has the right to object to processing (including data processing that is carried out based on the legitimate interests of “Engineering for children”). These rights can be exercised to the extent that data processing does not follow from the obligations of “Engineering for children”, which are laid upon the company by statutes, and which are carried out in the interests of society. The Data Subject has the right:
5.1.1. to request access to their personal data from “Engineering for children”;
5.1.2. to receive information regarding which part of their personal data is at the disposal of “Engineering for children”, and regarding the goal of this data processing;
5.1.3. to know with what categories of recipients the personal data has been shared;
5.1.4. to receive information about how long the personal data will be stored, or about the criteria used to determine the length of that storage period;
5.1.5. to object to the processing of their data;
5.1.6. to the transferability of data (this right allows the Data Subject to receive the personal data they have provided to “Engineering for children” in a structured, widely used and machine readable format, and to send the data in question to a different data controller. In such a case, “Engineering for children” has no obligation to check the quality of the data and to ensure that quality).
5.2. If the Data Subject believes that the information at the disposal of “Engineering for children” is out of date, inaccurate or incorrect, they have the right to request the correction of their personal data.
5.3. The Data Subject can submit a request to exercise their rights in writing:
5.3.1. in person, while also presenting an identity document (because the Data Subject has an obligation to identify themself);
5.3.2. by sending an e-mail, and by signing it with a secure electronic signature. In such a case, it is accepted that the Data Subject has identified themself by sending such a request, which is signed with a secure electronic signature;
5.3.3. by sending a registered letter. The reply to this request will be addressed to the Data Subject, also via registered letter. Such an action will ensure that the appropriate Data Subject, who is identified when they receive the letter, does in fact receive the letter. In the case of doubt or suspicion, “Engineering for children” has the right to ask the Data Subject for additional information, which would identify them unambiguosly. (The goal of such a request would be to ensure that data does not end up with third parties).
5.4. “Engineering for children” will reply to the Data Subject in the form of a registered letter, sent to their contact address. If, in their request, the Data Subject has indicated that they wish to receive an electronic reply, an electronic reply will be sent to the e-mail address indicated in the request.
5.5. While processing the Data Subject’s request for exercise of their rights, “Engineering for children” makes sure of the Data Subject’s identity, evaluates the request and carries it out in accordance with statutes.
5.6. “Engineering for children” reviews the Data Subject’s requests in relation to the above-mentioned rights at no cost. If a request has obviously been submitted unjustifiably or in excess, review of the same can be declined, or the Data Subject can be charged a reasonable fee (based on administrative costs) for it. Such fees can also be applied under other circumstances provided for in statutes.
5.7. The Data Subject has the right to request the deletion of their personal data, or to object to its processing, if they believe that the data in question has been processed illegally, or if that data is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which it was collected and/or processed. (Such an action would implement the GDPR data processing principle “being forgotten”).
5.8. The Data Subject’s personal data cannot be deleted if data processing is necessary for one of the following purposes:
5.8.1. to allow “Engineering for children” or a third party to bring up, exercise or defend its legitimate interests;
5.8.2. to protect the property and copyright of “Engineering for children”;
5.8.3. to allow “Engineering for children” to protect the vitally important interests (including life and health) of the Data Subject or of another individual;
5.8.4. to create an archive in a manner corresponding to such statutes in effect in the Republic of Latvia as regulate the creation of archives.
5.9. The Data Subject has the right to ask “Engineering for children” to limit the processing of their personal data under at least one of the following circumstances:
5.9.1. if the Data Subject disputes the accuracy of the personal data – throughout a time period during which the data controller can check the accuracy of that data;
5.9.2. if processing is illegal and the Data Subject objects to the deletion of their personal data, and if, instead, they request restriction of the use of their data;
5.9.3. if the data controller no longer needs the personal data for processing, but the Data Subject needs it in order to raise, exercise or defend legal rights;
5.9.4. if the Data Subject has objected to processing in accordance with the GDPR, until it has been determined which legitimate interest is more important: the collector’s or the Data Subject’s.
5.10. If the processing of the Data Subject’s personal data is limited in accordance with point 5.9. of this Privacy Policy, such personal data will only be processed (this stipulation does not apply to storage) with the Data Subject’s consent, or in order to fulfill legal requirements or to protect the rights or important interests of other individuals or legal entities.
5.11. “Engineering for children” will inform the Data Subject before the limitation of processing of the Data Subject’s personal data stops taking effect.
6.1. “Engineering for children” consistently ensures and improves its data protection measures, in order to protect the Data Subject’s individual personal data from unsanctioned access and from accidental loss, disclosure or destruction. “Engineering for children” has taken into account the specific risks created by data processing, especially the accidental or illegal destruction, loss and modification of sent, stored or otherwise processed personal data, or unauthorized disclosure of or access to the same.
6.2. “Engineering for children” uses appropriate technical and organizational specifications, including, but not limited to, firewalls and intrusion detection, analytical and data encryption software.
6.3. “Engineering for children” carefully screens all the co-contractors that process the data of individuals, with authorization from the company and under instructions from it. The company also asseses whether its co-contractors (processors of personal data) are or are not able to ensure appropriate security measures. This assessment ensures that the processing of individuals’ data takes place according to “Engineering for children”’s authorization and to the requirements of binding statutes.
6.4. “Engineering for children” takes measures to ensure that any person who works as an employee of the company and who has access to personal data does not process it without instructions from the company, unless the person in question must do so in accordance with the requirements of statutes.
6.5. “Engineering for children” ensures that data processing and protection requirements are carried out in accordance with statutes. If a breach of personal data protection has taken place, and if it could create a high level of risk to the Data Subject’s rights and freedoms, and if the exceptions set out in Paragraph 3. of Article 34. of the GDPR apply, “Engineering for children” will inform the Data Subject of the breach without undue delay.
6.6. In the case of a claim by the Data Subject, “Engineering for children” will take all necessary actions in order to resolve the claim by means of mutual conversation. If this approach does not succeed, however, the Data Subject always has the right to turn to a supervisory body – the Data State Inspectorate.
7.1 The PROFESSORJACINO platform warns its visitors and users that during use of the platform, cookie technology will be used for the following goals:
7.1.1 to improve the PROFESSORJACINO platform’s user experience, and to ensure the platform’s basic functionality, for example, website navigation, safe management and access to functions. The website cannot function fully without these cookies. Therefore, any visitor to the site cannot refuse to use cookies;
7.1.2 to allow the website to remember information that changes the way the website looks or functions, for example, the selected language, or the region you are in;
7.1.3 to ensure that the Data Subject can freely visit and browse the PROFESSORJACINO platform, and can use all the opportunities it offers, including the chance to acquire information about the Services offered by “Engineering for children”;
7.1.4 to determine the most-visited sections of the PROFESSORJACINO platform, by gathering statistical data about the PROFESSORJACINO platform, about the number of visitors to its sections, about the time spent on the platform, etc. (by using Google Analytics).
7.2 Cookies only identify the Data Subject’s device; they do not reveal the Data Subject’s identity in any way. Cookies are small text files that are sent to your computer’s memory while you are visiting a website. On every future visit, the cookies are sent back to their site of origin or to another website that recognizes them. Cookies function as the memory of a specific website, allowing that website to remember the Data Subject’s computer on future visits. Cookies can also remember the Data Subject’s settings or improve the user experience.
7.3 The cookies used can be divided into technologically necessary cookies (without which performing services becomes technologically impossible or significantly difficult) and analytical, statistics-related cookies.

7.5 The Data Subject has the right not to agree to the creation, storage and processing of statistical data, by manually turning off the cookie processing program in their browser at any time.
7.6 Links to other service providers’ (third parties’) websites might be placed on “Engineering for children”’s PROFESSORJACINO platform (for example: https://www.facebook.com, https://www.youtube.com, https://twitter.com, etc.). These websites have their own terms of use, personal data use policies, cookie policies and security terms and conditions, for which “Engineering for children” is not responsible.
7.7 The Data Subject has the right to decline future processing of their data at any time, except if the data processing has a different legal basis or if statutes require otherwise.
8.1. “Engineering for children” communicates with the Data Subject by using the Data Subject’s indicated contact information (telephone number, e-mail address or postal address).
8.2. “Engineering for children” communicates about carrying out its contracted responsibilities on the basis of a signed contract, in a manner corresponding to the contact information indicated in that contract (if applicable).
8.3. In other cases, “Engineering for children” communicates with the Data Subject on the basis of a request submitted by the Data Subject, while respecting the Data Subject’s preferred mode of communication and/ or the requirements of statutes.
9.1. “Engineering for children” has the right to change the terms of this Privacy Policy.
9.2. If this Privacy Policy is updated, the changes take effect on the date indicated in the updated Privacy Policy.
9.3. In order to ensure transparent data processing, carried out in good faith, the most recent version of the Privacy Policy is always made public.
9.4. The Data Subject must become acquainted with this Privacy Policy. The Data Subject must also acquaint any person associated with them, whose interests may therefore be affected during this personal data processing, with this Privacy Policy. “Engineering for children” expects that all personal data submitted to it does not harm other people’s interests.
9.5. If this Privacy Policy is translated into other languages, then in the case of discrepancies, the definitive text is the Latvian-language version.
9.6. This Privacy Policy is in effect as of March 4, 2022.
